Job Description:
Role: Warehouse - Materials Manager
Location: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory control across all project sites, warehouses, and yards, ensuring proper stock movement and reconciliation.
- Implement FIFO/LIFO systems and ensure compliance with material handling, storage, and quality standards upon receipt and issuance.
- Manage end-to-end logistics, including procurement coordination, transportation, customs clearance support, and timely delivery of materials to site locations.
- Conduct regular stock audits (monthly/quarterly) and ensure zero variance between physical and system inventory records.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Planning Teams to forecast material requirements based on project schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance, negotiate better terms, and identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising quality.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards, quality protocols, and local regulatory requirements applicable in Central Africa construction environments.
- Oversee receipt inspection of construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, MEP items, and ensure adherence to approved specifications.
- Manage warehouse operations, including loading/unloading supervision, storage optimization, and material issuance tracking.
- Track critical and high-value materials to prevent theft, damage, or misuse at remote and multi-site project locations.
- Maintain proper documentation including GRNs, delivery challans, stock registers, and ERP updates in real time.
- Coordinate with procurement and finance teams for invoice matching, vendor reconciliation, and payment support processes.
- Lead implementation and improvement of ERP-based inventory and materials management systems.
- Support project planning teams in reducing material wastage and improving cost efficiency across all sites.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Civil Engineering background
- MBA in Materials Management / Operations Management
- 6–8 years of experience in construction industry only
- Strong exposure to multi-site construction projects (preferably in Africa or international projects)
- Hands-on experience in inventory, logistics, and construction materials management
- Strong ERP knowledge and reporting capabilities
- Ability to manage teams and work in challenging site conditions in Central Africa
Contract Period: 2 years contract with a return ticket at the end of contrac
